Sylvia and her family

Sylvia Bastone is the founder, owner, and lead director at New Beginnings Long Island. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a Minor in Education from Mercy College, as well as a Masters in Education from Dowling College.  Sylvia taught pre-school for fifteen years and served as a preschool director for four years before going out on her own and proudly opening New Beginnings of Kings Park in 2012 . The Kings Park location was followed closely by New Beginnings of Hauppauge in 2017 and finally New Beginnings of Smithtown in 2021. Sylvia is married to her husband Franco who is the Co-Founder and Business Director for New Beginnings. They have two daughters, AnneMarie and Antoinette, as well as a son, Coco the Cavapoo, who also happens to be New Beginnings’ unofficial mascot. AnneMarie is the Assistant Director at Smithtown and Antoinette is the Director of Marketing for New Beginnings. AnneMarie’s fiance Christopher works for Kings Park School District as a Groundskeeper and is a greeter at New Beginnings of Smithtown. Antoinette’s fiance Orion works for South Huntington School District as a Network Engineer and for New Beginnings as the IT Manager.
